I purchased this book together with Dr. Hirsch’s 2009 Sensa book and read it first. As a book I would give the book 4-4. 5 stars because it was very interesting and made me want to try the smelling devices that Dr. Hirsch developed before Sensa – but as far as I can tell they are no longer on the market. So the info is outdated, hence only 3 stars.
Although he was a bit vague on what scents are the key to losing weight (just the mention when you buy the scents yada yada yada) he did mention a couple of scents that can be used in the home to help relax or sleep.
The reason that I wouldn’t buy this book together with the Sensa book is that it is a repeat of this one (in some places word for word), with the newer data of the Sensa product. So basically you’d be buying the same book twice. If you had to choose between the two – go for the Sensa book with the more current info.

I ordered the EasyTrim devices and bought the book on Scentsational Weightloss and I found it to be very successful. I was originally weighing in at 180lbs. I am currently weighting in at 155lbs. It took me about two months to loss the weight. I’m looking for the phone number so that I may order more. However this company seems as though it has drop off the face of the earth. Please help me locate another distributor. This program really does work.

This is where Dr Hirsch started – book tells how he arrived at his theory regarding weight and sense of smell. Interesting background. Then the doctor goes on to tell how smell affects our appetite and gives lots of examples. I found this book worth a bazillion times more than his product and book, Sensa! THis is a down to earth book full of common sense and fun to read to boot.
I left off one star because he doesn’t go into calories at all and uses vials of odorants for his research – only one chapter on just “sniffing” which is what is should all be about. He suggests sniffing before the first bite but I have found, after some experimenting, that if I put the food in my mouth, chew just slightly, and then do the “wine slurp” (draw the air into your mouth through slightly parted lips as if you were doing a wine tasting) the flavor of the food is really really enhanced and the delightful smell goes up into your palate and nose and – surprise!! – you’re appetite is satiated about half way through the meal. Eat less, lose weight!
