A great motivational book for a novice dieter, but for someone who has been dieting most of her adult life, it didn’t contain much new information that I hadn’t already read elsewhere.

Kimberly Floyd has written a remarkable, insightful and inspiring book that will provide you with the tools to transform your physical from the inside out.
What makes MONEYWISE WEIGHTLOSS unique is that FLOYD provides readers with up to the minute research, Scripture, inspirational quotes and personal testimony as well as information on how to buy fruits and vegetables in season to save money and obtain them during peak times for flavor and sweetness. In addition, I love that her approach helps those seeking to transform their eating habits into a healthier one is that of helping people save money instead of spend more money as many “diet” programs subtly make people do.
The diet industry is a billion dollar, brand driven industry, but America seems to be moving further and further away from eating to live instead of eating because it tastes good and food is readily available.
MONEYWISE WEIGHT LOSS is the perfect anecdote.
They say there is a spiritual solution to every problem and MONEYWISE WEIGHT LOSS by Kimberly Floyd is THE solution. FLOYD’s passion for helping people to take back their temple is heartfelt and admirable.
You’ll value this resource immensely!

From the moment I read the title, I was curious as to why it claimed to do something other weight loss books didn’t. . . . namely make it possible for the common man (or woman, in my case) to lose weight and stay on a budget at the same time. I think we all have seen the ads on T. V. that claim for $XX a week you too can achieve your goal of a slimmer, trimmer you! But what is not mentioned in those ads is the fact that in order to do just that, you must also invest in special meals for yourself to achieve that weight loss. And it isn’t just the fact that you must buy some of the more popular weight loss systems’ special food, it is also a matter of the cost of such systems and how to manage not only your special diet but feed a family as well. Frankly, the complexity of some systems, combined with the cost, don’t appeal to this reviewer. I live a busy life and anything that adds difficulty to my everyday routine is simply not for me.
Within the pages of this book, author Kimberly Ford explains how you can and will lose weight with her method, while achieving both a thinner you but also achieve through this book a stronger sense of self-worth in the process. Many of us have dieted and met that target goal only to find mere weeks later all of our hard work was for nothing, we gained the weight back, and not necessarily because the weight loss plan was a failure, but because we had not changed habits in self-esteem, spiritual-growth and attitude during our weight loss.
In ” MoneyWise Weight Loss: The Faith-based Plan for Building a Better Body on a Budget” we are taken step by step through the process of weight loss while finding and keeping a more positive and less stressful you in the process. In this book I found sections dealing with emotional eating. . . that is, eating not for the sake of filling an empty stomach but to soothe or reward oneself through food. The author also explains how stress can affect our eating habits and sabotage the best diet available. Through better management of stress within ones life, excess weight can not only be removed but can stay off.
But the best thing I found in this book was in direct relationship to its title. I found that weight loss doesn’t mean you have to take out a second mortgage on the house or dip into your kid’s college fund to pay for it. It can be a very affordable process and the author makes that very clear within the pages of this book.
With lists that are both extremely helpful as well as healthy, the author does everything possible to help readers achieve their target goal, short of moving in and monitoring you every bite. Everything you need to achieve your goal of a slimmer, happier you is within the pages of this book.
To say I was impressed with this book would be an understatement. As someone who has tried various programs to lose “those last 5 lbs” after the birth of my sons, I never thought I’d agree with any weight-loss program. And to be completely honest, I have seen too many programs work and then within weeks or months the individuals falling back to their old ways and back at their pre-diet weight again. Not so with this program.
I found that eating healthier using the tips within this book was very simple. The author spells out anything the dieter might need in simple language and to this writer that was its greatest appeal. In this day and age of electronics that can only be used by teenagers, and books on the market that take 1000 pages to say nothing helpful, this book was a refreshing change. Not only can I see this program working for weight loss but I can also see it playing a big part in self-esteem and spiritual strength as well. I recommend “MoneyWise Weight Loss” for anyone who has tried program after program with no success. It is well-written, straight to the point and inspirational as well. I would recommend this book for anyone who is looking for a faith-based way to get fit on a budget. It is commonsense knowledge in this complicated world we all live in today.

Do you struggle constantly with dieting and weight loss? Does it seem like every program you’ve ever tried just didn’t work? Do you find yourself saying, “if I only had more money, I would join a gym or start a diet program”? Do you have a litany of other excuses you spew each time the subject of diet and exercise comes up? In MONEYWISE WEIGHT LOSS, author Kimberly Floyd shoots down each excuse you may have, and gives tools and advice that if followed expressly, will help to finally shed those excess pounds.
“If you put a small value upon yourself, rest assured the world will not raise your price. “-Author Unknown. Powerful phrase, right? That phrase is what Floyd opens with in this book, now talk about a reality check! She then shares her own struggle with weight loss, slaps us with the brutal words of her doctor – “the effect of obesity on our heart was like asking an engine designed for a Volkswagen to haul the weight of a Mack truck. ” As I looked down at my own body, carrying 100+ pounds more than it should, I realized how true this statement is.
The entire book is chock full of thought-provoking scriptures, inspirations, tools, exercises, recipes, advice and everything we need to once and for all win the battle of the bulge, and treat our body as the temple it was designed to be. If you struggle with weight loss, as I do, then the purchase of MONEYWISE WEIGHT LOSS is a worthy investment.
