  1. I found the repetitive, droaning music and the barely audible whispering audio of this CD to be more annoying than fingers on a chalkboard. To find this material helpful you have to be completely out of ideas.

For pete’s sake join a gym and obtain the services of a personal trainer or take the $16 plus shipping cost and go to Burger King for a Double Whopper with Cheese followed by a brief stop at the local Baskin Robins and grab a 2310 calorie Heath Bar Shake. Enjoy yourself one last time – then go find that gym.

Should you decide to send it back standby for a whopping 50% restocking fee – That’s right FIFTY Percent Fee! Had I know that I’d have used it for target practice or a coaster under the shake.

There should be a minus 5 star rating for this kind of junk. Am I pissed? You bet!!!

  2. Belleruth Naparstek has a real gift at both creating meaningful/hypnotic guide imageries, and also very powerful affirmations.

I have used several of Belleruth Naparstek’s guided meditation CDs over the years (and also given them as gifts), but this one for weight loss may be my favorite. The CD has 2 sections: One is guided imagery spoken by Ms. Naparstek, with specially composed music in the background, which she suggests that–in the beginning–you listen to once or twice a day with “relaxed attention. ” She also explains that over time, you may not need to listen as often. It is suggested that you NOT do any of her meditations while driving, as they may make you drowsy. The second part of the CD is a group of affirmations, which you can listen to any time–including in the car. Both the guided meditation and the affirmations are gentle, relaxing, uplifting, well-researched, and well-produced. I highly recommend them. The use of this particular CD doubled weight loss in a placebo-controlled pilot study at Canyon Ranch. You can learn more about these CDs and even listen to audio samples from them at [. . . ], although I think Amazon offers a little better price. (I am not affiliated with the company, aside from being a very satisfied customer. )

This meditation is so healing. I love it. And I lost the weight I had been trying to lose for years.
