Seeing various delicious dishes presented at the dinner table is of course tempting to us. We become interested in eating, regardless of need or desire to eat.

If hunger is a biological stimulation to ensure the body gets sufficient food, the desire to eat or appetite is a complex collection of chemical reactions from body, habits, social behavior and psychological conditions that are not easily controlled.

But this does not mean ‘appetite’ can not be controlled. Some experts even found the right way to resist the urge to eat. This way, of course, is very useful for those who are currently in a diet program to maintain body shape.

The following are the easiest tricks you can rely on to resist the temptation to eat:

Trust your stomach

First and foremost, ask yourself, why you eat. If it is not because you are truly hungry, then immediately stop.

Why? Because there are some people who think that food function is not only  an energy source in order to survive. But, the food is also considered a distraction or escape from something. Well, it is usually not associated with hunger.

Divert attention from the food

Food is often used as an escape when someone is under stress. If this happened to you,  start now to try to divert your attention on other things more profitable than food. For example, the streets, listening to music, chatting with friends, or watching movies. In other words, any activity that could give you a sense of comfort and relaxation.

Light a scented candle

Alone at home without any activities often create greater snacking desires. If you don’t want this to happen to you, try to light scented candles. Research shows that the smell of apples, peppermint and banana has proven to reduce the appetite.

Pinched the nerve points

You feel powerless to resist snacking or eating? Try pinching the nerve point that controls the appetite. Located in the cartilage area, where your jaw  is attached just below the ear.

Choose foods that are makes you full

We recommend the consumption of fresh fruit and consume large amounts of water in between meals so you can eat less at mealtime. At any time choose to eat foods that are certain carbohydrates and proteins, because it can make you full.
