Bellydance Fitness for Weight Loss featuring Rania: Pure Sweat
I first got into bellydancing through Veena and Neena’s videos and since then have tried many others. I am always interested in trying something new, so I immediately ordered this video. Not only is the music lousy, the set uninspiring, but more importantly the workout is boring. I couldn’t make it though the second workout. There is a routine at the end that has nothing to do with what you just learned, which is irratating. I still enjoy after many viewings The Veena and Neena Sensual videos, Dolphina’s Goddess Workout videos and Shamira’s bellydance video. All of these teach you how to bellydance, while giving you a great workout and teach you a routine YOU can learn!

I cannot believe that I actually spent money for this video. The music is terrible, boring and the moves are pathetic. There are maybe a couple of steps you may like but on the whole, I am so disappointed in Rania. She is so beautiful and capable of so much more. I have her Cardio Shimmy tape also and although I’m not overly impressed with that, either the dance routine is worth keeping the tape. I have two of the tapes from Veena and Neena ( Slim down and Hips, Buns, and Thighs ) and this video cannot compare with the twins. Rania, nothing personal but this one’s a bad egg, honey. . .

I LOVE LATIN MUSIC. THE MUSIC IN THE VIDEO IS AWFUL. RANIA IS WONDERFUL DANCER. I LOVE THE DANCE ROUTINE AT THE END. THE WORKOUT IS SLOW.

With well-chosen Latin music and a fast-tempo’d pace guaranteed to satisfy the aerobic-dance crowd, this is the most accessible entry in Rania’s Bellydance Fitness for Weight Loss series. Travelling steps, such as the grapevine, the duck walk, swivel walk, with a little shimmy to boot are featured. The “dessert” at the end – Rania’s playful Folkloric performance with veil and cane – shows how these travelling steps are used to advantage. I firmly believe, though, that the sum of entire Bellydance Fitness series is greater than its individual tapes. Use Pure Sweat and Cardio Shimmy on your aerobic days, Bellydance Boogie when you want to really work on your torso moves, and Hip Hop Hip Drop on your yoga days and when you need to work out sore muscles. You need to master the elements in all the tapes, not just one, to become a well-rounded dancer.

I bought this video because Essence Magazine rated it as being in the top four workout videos of the year, and I was not disappointed. It is a nice, well-paced workout, with easy to learn and interesting belly dance steps. Rania is an excellent instructor. I have the Belly Twins videos, but they are boring and unsafe. I can’t wait for Rania to come out with some more advanced stuff.
